Does Richmond charge a yearly alarm permit?
Yes, inside the City of Richmond. Chapter 10 Article III requires a $10 initial registration and a $5 yearly renewal with CryWolf. Confirm at (877) 893-5267. The first two false alarms in a calendar year are warnings, then fees climb. Henrico uses a police data form. Chesterfield requires a permit within 30 days. Hanover does not require a residential permit. Other cities confirm from the ZIP — we do not invent a dollar amount.
There is a leftover keypad in my Fan resale. Now what?
Photograph it before you pull it off the wall. Many Fan, Church Hill, Short Pump, and Midlothian resales still have a panel. We can often turn ADT back on instead of starting over. Builder leftover keypads are usually not ADT — those get replaced.
Does monitoring work when Dominion Energy is out?
Yes. Ask about cellular backup so the panel still reaches ADT if Dominion Energy or the Wi-Fi is down. Richmond, Henrico, and most of Chesterfield sit on Dominion Energy. Rappahannock Electric Cooperative covers some Hanover and Goochland pockets. Southside Electric Cooperative covers some Chesterfield lots.

We confirm the earliest install window on the call. Weekdays empty a lot of Richmond houses. A VCU class day or a commute on I-64 empties the same doors. Promotional offers are for homeowners, not short-term rentals. Say so on the call.
Do you cover Short Pump, Midlothian, and Mechanicsville?
